News and Reviews Eatibility 8.8 Highly Recommended Food 9 Ambience 8 Service 9 Value 9 I went to Casa Messina for a get together with a group of friends on a busy Saturday night. When we arrived the place was very busy but our table was already set up close to the window and the Italian music was very nice. My friends and I had some shared entrees, we have a pizza bruschetta which was lovely, the antipasto was really fresh and the side salads were fresh and crispy. For main I had the barramundi with lemon and white wine sauce which was absolutely delicious, the sauce was spot on and the flavour of the lemon and the wine was fantastic. My friends had a linguini boscaiola which I tried and the pasta was al dente, the sauce was lovely, not too thick and the taste was not too creamy which was nice. I also tried a slice of Casa Messina pizza which was crisp it had just the right amount of ingredients and the dough tasted fresh without leave me with a bloated feeling. Despite the restaurant was very full, the waitresses assisted all my requests promptly, always with a smile which is nice to see when I go out to spend money in restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant as the food is delicious, the portions are generous but not over priced as other restaurant around in Leichhardt. I ordered spaghetti with mussels, which came out piping hot, and presented really well. The taste was good with strong garlic and herbs (just the way I like it). Booked for outside but were lucky to get a table inside. Must say the wait staff were doing the best they possibly could considering the amount of people. In saying this the food was absolutely excellent and I am not surprised they were fully booked. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and go back, maybe during the week would be good. The food was absolutely fabulous though. We had a meat and a vegetarian mezze and they were divine, they were also very big, we should have shared just the one! The pizza was crispy and thin with a good helping of toppings. Overall we were very impressed and will probably go back the food was so good.
